Privacy policy

What we collect

Account: your email address and a hashed password. Your sign-up IP is kept briefly to prevent abuse.

Learning data: words and phrases you save, review results, the words you have seen in each series, and your conversations with the study assistant.

What you ask about: when you translate, explain or listen to a subtitle line, that line and nearby lines are sent to our server. When you open an episode we receive its platform and ID to find matching subtitles.

Access log: when you use the service and which titles you open, kept for 90 days.

What we don't do

We don't record your screen or audio, we don't read pages outside supported video sites, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Chat conversations

Chat conversations are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored on our servers. Only a very small number of authorized people can access them, and conversations are not read: they are opened only to investigate suspected abuse. You can delete any conversation in the app.

Service providers

To translate, explain and read text aloud, we send only the necessary text to service providers that process it on our behalf. They never receive your email or account details.

On your device

Your sign-in token and settings stay in browser storage. Signing out removes the token.

Your choices

Delete saved words, phrases and chats in the app at any time.

To delete your account and all its data, email support@streamfluency.com; we do it within 30 days.
